Guide
Words
sizuq uses a small vocabulary of its own. This page pins each word to one meaning so the rest of the guide can be read literally.
The vocabulary
| Word | What it means |
|---|---|
| drop | One piece of writing. Short or long, titled or untitled. Its address is /drop/ plus a short id. |
| Observatory | The shared reading surface on sizuq.com, where drops from you and the people you have added as friends appear. Its address is /drops. |
| garden | Your own publishing surface, at your-handle.sizuq.com or a domain you own. Same writing, presented your way. |
| Constellation | Your private home: the shape of everything you have kept, arranged by theme and by season. |
| resonance | What a reader can leave on a drop instead of a rating. There are several kinds and sizuq never totals them. |
| friend | Someone whose drops you want in your Observatory. One-directional and quiet — they are not told to add you back. |
| whisper | A notice that something echoed back: a resonance, or a new friend. Never a number. |
| space | A room several people write into. Public spaces anyone can enter; private ones need an invite link. |
| Reflection | The cooling-off period between writing a drop and sharing it. |
| worldview preset | The typography and palette a surface is dressed in — lucid, calm, classic, terminal, module, aurora. |
| orbit | A link hub: a single page of links instead of a feed of writing. |
Words that collide
A few words are used twice in the interface, and knowing which sense is meant saves a lot of confusion.
- Garden is both a place and a plan. Lowercase, it is your publishing surface. Capitalised, it is the middle paid plan. Only the plans page uses it as a name.
- Worldview is both a theme and a bio field. The theme axis is always called a worldview preset in this guide. The free-text Worldview field on your profile is something you write, not something you pick.
- Sites is what the settings screen calls gardens. The section is Settings → Sites & domains; the thing it manages is a garden.
- Feed only ever means RSS here. The reading surface is the Observatory.
Two surfaces, one body of writing
This is the split that catches people first. Everything you write lives once, and is shown in two places.
| sizuq.com | your garden | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | The shared network — Observatory, Compose, Constellation, spaces | Your own site, presented and named by you |
| Who it is for | You and the people you read | Anyone you send the address to |
| Where you write | Here. Composing and editing only ever happen on sizuq.com | Nowhere — a garden is a way of showing, not writing |
So a garden is not a second account and not a copy. It is a second window onto the same drops, and you can have more than one of them.
