Feeds and sharing

Every garden publishes a feed at /feed.xml, carrying its most recent articles. Readers do not have to find it by hand — it is announced in the page itself, so a reader pasting your garden's address into a feed reader will be offered it.

The feed follows the garden it belongs to. If you narrowed a garden by tag, its feed carries the same selection, and it is published in that garden's language.

By default the feed carries an opening extract, and a reader follows the link to read the rest on your garden. You can switch it to carry the full text instead.

It is a real trade. Full text is kinder to the reader — the writing arrives wherever they read, including offline. It also means most of them never see your garden, and that whatever you change afterwards has already gone out in its earlier form.

Paste one of your links into a chat or a social site and a preview card appears. sizuq decides what that card shows in a fixed order, taking the first that exists.

1. An image you uploaded for that specific drop.
2. An image you uploaded for the garden.
3. A generated card.

A drop's own image can be uploaded, or chosen from the pictures already inside the writing — picking one that is already there costs no extra storage, because it is the same file.

When nothing has been uploaded, sizuq draws one. By default it is the ripple mark alone, with no text: a card that cannot be wrong, whatever the drop turns out to be.

A garden can opt into an identity card instead, showing your avatar, your name and your handle. It is meant for a link hub, where the page is you rather than a piece of writing. It has to be chosen — it is never the automatic fallback.
